We could have sold it. We're bringing it back to life instead.
For generations, our family has held onto a mountain in the heart of the Nicoya Peninsula — one of the world's five original Blue Zones, where people have historically lived longer, healthier lives than almost anywhere on earth. Land like this gets offers. We've had them. We've turned them down, because we couldn't watch the forest cleared, the animals pushed out, or the river disturbed for someone else's short-term gain.
What we could never quite do was decide what to do with it — until now. After my own experience with health struggles, I came to believe something the people of this peninsula already knew, generations ago: health isn't just food or exercise. It's the whole ecosystem — the air, the water, the soil something is grown in, the animals we live alongside, the daily rhythms we've forgotten. Nicoya became a Blue Zone because of a way of life, and that way of life is quietly disappearing.
So we're building something on this land to bring it back: protected forest, regenerative food forests, clean water, a home for rescued dogs, and a place where local families and kids can reconnect with real, organically grown food. None of it is finished. Most of it is being figured out as we go. This page exists so you can watch it happen — and if it moves you, be part of it.
